Alexis is now 14!
It still amazes me how time flies.
She will be in High School this year. Say What?
For her birthday she really wanted her room redone. It was more of a challenge then I thought it would be because we are both very opinionated. She wanted things one way, while I thought it would be better a different way. I wanted to get it done but I couldn't get her to decide how to finish with accessorizing, etc. So I've pretty much decided she can do the rest. I do think it turned out cute though.
This is her room before.
I started off with glazing all the molding and trim because she wanted a "shabby chic" kind of look.
I use an oil based glaze tinted dark brown.
White, white, white was her main request.
It took 3 coats to cover the color!
I painted this old desk we had sitting in the garage a light blue to use as a vanity.
She wanted white, feminine, vintage, shabby chic all in one.
The bedding is temporary until we can find something that Alexis likes but is in my price range.
She wants white ruffles, lace, and volume.

I love all the cute little touches- love how the painted blue desk fits so perfectly in that space. and I really like that dome thing above the other dresser....super cute.

BEAUTIFUL room! Good job, you are so crafty and so good at it! Sorry we couldn't make it last week, the kids and I were all sick! :(
