Our sweet dog that has been in the family for about 

12 1/2 years was laid to rest last month. 

 It was a sad day!  She has been with us longer than most the kids.  The last few weeks of her life were hard to watch.  She has always been a very happy, energetic dog but she got to where she couldn't even walk.  She hardly ate, and she was getting so skinny & sickly. After much consideration we decided to end her suffering and have her put down.  The vet said cancer had taken over.  
It was so sad! 

The Early Years-She was the cutest puppy ever!  
She thought Alex was her litter-mate and 
would nip at her constantly.  
So many of Alex's clothes had little tears 
from the little pups.

She was a crazy teenager and chewed lots of stuff including 

several newly planted maple trees right in half!

She always wanted to be where we were.  

She loved the kids and was so patient and gentle with them.

Her favorite thing was being outside.  She loved walks, and the mere mention of the word would send her into fits of excitement!  She was a great running partner and would often pull me along.  She was the best swimmer and never wanted to quit.  We kept thinking she would get too tired and drowned if we let her keep going but she would swim until it was time to go home.

We miss her!  It is so strange not having her around.
